The Police Chief is the chief public safety officer for the Town. Aaron Frost was appointed to the Police Chief role by Edgewood’s Governing Body in April 2025. Under the delegated authority of the Commission, he is responsible for public safety for the Town and manages daily operations and strategic planning of the Edgewood Police Department and Edgewood Animal Control. He maintains a focus on enforcement, staffing and training, community engagement, and fiscal management.
Chief Frost brings 19 years of dedicated law enforcement experience in New Mexico to his role. He joined the Edgewood Police Department in December 2022, following more than 15 years of service with the Ruidoso Police Department.
Chief Frost holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Fort Hays State University, as well as an Associate of Applied Science in Police Science with a focus on Crime Scene Reconstruction Technology from Oklahoma State University.
His leadership reflects a commitment to public safety, integrity, and community-focused policing. In his role as Chief of Police, Chief Frost is dedicated to fostering a safe and welcoming environment that honors Edgewood’s rural character and community spirit. He emphasizes transparency, collaboration, and proactive engagement with residents to uphold the Town’s values and supports its vision for thoughtful growth and development.
